Santa Monica
2022
A thoughtful transformation.
Winston Alford-Hamburg collaborated with Studio Kouo and Studio A 1000x Better to reimagine the exterior of this Spanish Revival home in Santa Monica. The design introduces larger windows and a new front entry that balances the facade while enhancing the natural flow of the space. These changes update the home’s look while staying true to its historic character.
Before
A vision for modern living.
The original facade, with its small windows and offset entrance, was typical of older Spanish Revival homes but felt confined. In the new renderings, the home has been transformed with larger openings, a fresh white exterior, and a more centered, welcoming entrance. Winston took the initiative to design the interior renderings for a cohesive vision.
The redesign creates a sense of openness and connection to the surrounding landscape, bringing in natural light while maintaining the integrity of the original architecture.
Elevate every detail.
Blending history.
Currently under development, this project highlights Winston’s ability to blend historical architecture with modern elements. By balancing traditional charm with a modern approach, the redesign preserves the home's essence while offering a fresh perspective on how it can function in today's world. The thoughtful approach to circulation and structure enhances both the visual appeal and the livability of the space.
