Post Hill Road
2020
A private sanctuary in the Hudson Valley.
Working under Joan Krevlin at BKSK Architects, Winston Alford-Hamburg helped design a discreet retreat for a high-profile client seeking privacy and tranquility during the COVID-19 pandemic. The renovation focused on transforming the existing home and crafting a new fitness and wellness pavilion, creating a peaceful escape that balances luxury and seclusion. The pavilion’s clean lines and expansive glass walls offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, while the design prioritizes the privacy essential to the client's lifestyle. The result is a haven where nature and architecture converge in perfect harmony.
Seamlessly integrated with nature.
Set alongside a pool and autocourt, the pavilion serves as an architectural highlight of the property. Its expansive windows and minimalist design allow for an effortless flow between the indoors and outdoors, creating a calming environment for relaxation and wellness. The deck provides an intimate space for family gatherings, offering the client privacy without sacrificing connection to nature.
An escape into tranquility
A wellness retreat.
The pavilion is more than a structure—it is a sanctuary for health, wellness, and family connection. With a focus on openness and tranquility, the fitness space blends harmoniously with the surrounding greenery, making it a true escape. Designed to offer the seclusion needed by a high-profile individual, the pavilion is both a personal retreat and a family oasis.
